Scheerhorn
ROB ICKES
When many pickers first try a Scheerhorn they become converts, and that’s indeed what happened with Dobro genius Rob Ickes. In fact, he was such a fan that he collaborated with Scheerhorn and National to create this Signature Model guitar. The body is a Style L squareneck with Indian rosewood back and sides capped by a distinctive Adirondack spruce top, which offers an especially warm tone. Inside the body is Tim Scheerhorn’s famous open-chamber design with six soundposts, internal sound baffle, and the special handspun Scheerhorn cone. The cast spider bridge is topped with maple bridge inserts and the classic fan coverplate featuring. The Honduran mahogany neck features mother-of-pearl inlays in the ebony fretboard, which is accentuated by curly ivoroid binding. The result is a big, rich sounding resonator guitar — Rob Ickes, Tim Scheerhorn, and National wouldn’t have it any other way.
